Born: 10 March 1954, Langon, France.
Education: American Film Institute.
Career: Came to New York City when she was 19 and worked as an au pair in the New Rochelle suburb for three months. 'My English was not great so I spent a lot of time watching late night movies on the TV in my bedroom. Having a TV in your room where I grew up [on a farm in France] was unheard of.' Started her career as still ph with X-rated films: 'A friend of mine in New York was working as an electrician on the film and he got me the job. It was my very first time on a movie set. I thought, what is this weird new world I'm getting into.'
Became ph of doc's. Ph commercials dir by Michael Apted [for Coca-Cola, 1996], a.o. Still active as still ph. She was the first woman ever on the cover of the 'American Cinematographer' magazine.
