Born: ?, New City, N.Y., USA, as James M. Anderson. [His father was a stage manager and director in the theater and also of early, live television programs, including 'The Kraft Theatre' and directing live Kodak commercials on 'The Ed Sullivan Show'.]

Career: Worked as prod asst for still ph/dir Howard Zieff. Became c.asst, 2u and 1st unit cameraman on about a half dozen pictures for prod Roger Corman. When he entered the union in the mid-1970s he had to start again as c.asst and c.op.

He is the grandson of playwright and screenplay writer Maxwell Anderson [1888-1959].
