Career: Came to the USA in 1977.

Ph commercials dir by Paul Huf, a.o.

Became member of the ASC in 1990.

Debut as director in September 1993 with 'Speed'.

Was married [1973-88] to actress Monique van de Ven. His brother Peter is a doph.

Appeared in the doc 'De domeinen Ditvoorst' [1992, Thom Hoffman; ph: Peter de Bont] and in 3 ep of the doc tv-series 'Allemaal film' [2007].
