Education: VGIK, Moscow.

Career: Applied to emigrate from the USSR to the USA in 1978. Traveled to Italy via Vienna and befriended Italian doph Luciano Tovoli; went to New York 4 months later and worked as a camera technician. Shot a short feature [30m] for a New York University student.

Moved to Los Angeles in 1988 and ph commercials and music videos. He developed, with Sacha Riviere, a system of image control for cinematographers during the film-to-tape process and formed the company 'Gamma & Density Co., Inc.' in Studio City, California. Member of the ASC since 2008. Active as director: 'Heart of the Deal' [1990; + ph], the music video 'Two Hearts' [1993; a: Chris Isaak], etc.

Awards: CableACE Award nom [1992] for 'Heart of the Deal'.
