Born: 30 October 1936, Massa Marittima, Grosseto, Italy.

Education: Università di Pisa [Foreign languages]; Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, Rome [1956-58].

Career: Ph commercials. In 1981 he created, with Gabriele Lucci and Nestor Almendros, the 'International Festival of Cinematographers' in L'Aquila, Italy. In 1992 he conceived and implemented IMAGO, the European Federation of Cinematographers. Organized the 'Cinematographer's Day' at the Palm Springs IFF. Active as director: 'Il generale dell'armata morte/L'armata ritorna/The General of the Dead Army/Le général de l'armée morte' [1982, + scrpl/cph; cph: Pepino Tinelli]. Honorary member of the fsf and first honorary member of IMAGO.
