REYNALDO VILLALOBOS |
Born: 9 November 1940, Los Angeles, Calif., USA, as a second generation Los Angeleno. [His mother is from Sonora, Mexico, and his father was born in Los Angeles. The family moved to Inglewood, Calif., in 1945, when his father returned from the Navy.]
Education: El Camino College, Torrance, Calif. [Art and Design].
Career: Joined the Navy and became a photographers mate. After being honorably discharged, he had various jobs in the film industry: laborer, painter and delivering camera equipment to the studios and commercial houses. In 1970, Ted Winchester, the head of Paramount's camera department suggested that he sign up for the Minority Program, which was offered by the Photographers Union Local 659. Became 2nd c.asst, working on various tv shows including 'The Odd Couple', 'The Young Lawyers' & 'The Brady Bunch'. In 1975, he began to work on feature films with doph John Alonzo. Spent 3 years as Alonzo's 1st asst and c.op.
Also active as director.
