Born: 1959, Boston, Mass., USA. Also cred as Amy Vincent.

Education: University of California, Santa Cruz [Theatre Arts & Film]; American Film Institute [AFI] [1991-93; Cinematography].

Career: Her first industry job was in the archive dept at Warner Bros. Became an assistant [sound] editor. In 1987 she earned an internship in the camera dept at Warner Bros and became a member of the union [ICG Local 600]. 'I came up in a very old school way - interning in the camera department, loading, assisting, and operating with people like John Lindley, Bob Richardson, Bill Pope. I didn't even realize how much I learned from those guys until I finally got to shoot a film myself.'

Also active as theatrical lighting designer. Appeared in the doc 'Cinematographer Style' [2005, Jon Fauer; ph: J. Fauer, Jeff Laszlo, Brian Heller & David Morgan]. Member of the ASC since 2002.

Awards: Golden Satellite Award nom [1998] for 'Eve's Bayou'; Women in Film 'Kodak Vision Award' [2001]; Sundance FF 'Cinematography Award' [2005] for 'Hustle & Flow'.
